A break in the rain and a couple of runners.

Buffer Zone has missed a number of possible entries due to the tedious and incessant rain over the last month.  Finally, he looks to be able to get a start on some decent ground. We are never that keen on the horses having a tough slog on debut. Buffer Zone is quite a late foal, but he is strong and ready to start off. There are a few in the race who have had a start, and that is always an advantage but he should run well.

At Kempton Amenta returns to the track where she made her debut in an attempt to break her maiden. It was a poor race at Chepstow, but the easy winner has won twice since and is now rated 83, and we weren’t sure that the soft ground was to Amenta’s liking. If she can run a similar race she has a chance to be in the mix, but the Varian debutant could be a class above them all, and if the James Tate horse returns to form it will make it tough for us.

Zefferino disappointed last time having run well at Haydock. Today is a drop in class and a few of the other runners are not in winning form, whilst many of the fancied horses have very poor draws. Hopefully he can put his best put forward today, as he seems in good form.
