18th August 2017

It was great to see Cribbs Causeway win her 4th race of the year in taking fashion.

It was a strong race and Cribbs was up in grade again, but she won with authority. She has progressed all year and has been a credit to the yard, her breeder and the owners have had a great time in the process. Hopefully there can be another victory in the future.

At Newbury we have 3 runners. Universal Command makes his second start having run very green on debut. Today is a hot race and he will need to improve massively, but it will be good to get him out on the track.

Comrade Conrad steps up massively in distance to 1m 5f, and hopefully that brings about some improvement. He is happier with a bit of cut and the ground should be ideal for him today. He is by Canford Cliffs who seems to be getting them to stay further than he did and out of Galileo mare.

It’s Not Unusual ran a satisfactory debut at Kempton behind the improving Billesdon Brook. Today is a big field, with a  lot of unknowns, and she will need to improve to feature. She is a very good mover and she would prefer the ground to be faster.

Fengate just missed out at York the other day when she slightly hung to the left when she hit the lead. The slight cut in the ground will help her and she remains in good form, and should go close.
