6 runners all over the country today and the weather is causing issues.

Solar Cross

At Doncaster we were hoping for some good ground, and it appears that the word firm has slipped in to the description. We are praying that some of the showers up North today hit the course before racing. Solar Cross is stepping back in trip and a bit of cut will just put a bit more emphasis on the stamina he has. He won well at Doncaster two runs back before disappointing at Newmarket. Hopefully he can get back on track today.

Discovered makes his handicap debut after running with promise at Newmarket. The handicapper probably has him about right but hopefully he can take a step forward and get off the mark.

Blazed ran a taking race at Salisbury over 7f, when he ran into the progressive La Rav, with Plutonian and Important Mission in behind, who have since boosted the form. A drop back in trip will suit and flatter track should suit, and he ought to run well. Again, it wouldn’t harm if there was a drop of rain.

Silent Echo

At Newmarket they have sadly had 14mm of rain and now the ground is on the soft side. Silent Echo has not run on soft yet, but we know he handles quick ground. Back in trip will put more emphasis on stamina and hopefully he can return to being progressive.

Stone The Crows

Stone The Crows ran well on soft last time, but is probably a better horse when he has a sounder surface. He is a good mover. His form took a boost yesterday when Great Sound won, and he should show up well again today.

Ancient Longing avoided very soft ground at Ffos Las in the week and has walked into some freak storms at Newbury where the ground is now soft. She handled it on debut at Salisbury and ran well that day. There are some big talking horses in the race, but she won’t be far away.
