25th August 2017

A typically busy Friday with horses all over the country.

At Newmarket Kazeera makes her debut. As with all of our two year olds, she will come on for the experience. Every sibling to Al Kazeem is different, and none of them have won first time out. Kazeera is a neat filly, and a chestnut who is ready to start and we hope she can show some promise.

Sister Celine runs in the second division and is by Al Kazeem who has had a great start to his breeding career with a multiple winner in Ireland and a very promising debut from our own Clairette at Newmarket recently. She is a very good looking, and scopey filly who will be a better three-year-old. She has just started to show some ability at home but I am sure there are others in the race who know more than her, especially the ones that have run.

Abatement has another start on the turf. He has a mark which is 9lbs lower than his all weather rating, and today he finds himself in a slightly easier race than last time and with 2lbs less. The course is a different kettle of fish for him, in that it is undulating, but hopefully he can get the win he deserves.

Ply has had a little break and been gelded and returns to the turf. He has run very well on the all-weather twice, and needs to show his ability on the grass. He is a horse with some ability, who should run well today.

At Salisbury Sardenya steps up to a mile having shown herself to be running on all the way to the line at Chelmsford. She just edged left that day and so we have tried her in the blinkers at home, which seemed to focus her. Paddy claims a valuable 5lbs from her. Her Doncaster form is very solid.

At Ffos Las Casement looks to break his maiden. He ran a lovely race at Newmarket the other day and looking at the ratings that the other horses got that day he is heading for a mark of 80, irrespective of what he achieves today. He is a fine looking horse, and hopefully there are no hidden rockets in the race and he can win.
