1st October 2014
Two fillies at Salisbury making their debuts and one at Kempton this evening.
Farendole runs in the first race at 1.45pm and wears the second Juddmonte colours as the likely favourite Kisumu is in the same ownership. Farendole is out of Quick to Please who the late Sir Henry Cecil trained, she won first time out at Doncaster in 2000 by five lengths but she failed to win again. Although she is a full sister to the great Danehill she has yet to breed a winner but I hope Farendole will in due course improve her record by being a winner.
Heart Locket
In the second division we run Heart Locket a half sister to the much published Top Offer who made an impressive debut at Newbury in August 2011 and became a leading contender for the 2000 guineas probably due to the over optimistic and hyping trainer. Top Offer is now trained by Peter Crate and has now won his second race rated 62 in July. Heart Lockets dam Zante won the Upavon Listed Stakes at Salisbury in 1998 beating Innuendo.
Both Heart Locket and Farendole will be seen to better effect as three year olds.
Marzante
Our best horse Marzante goes to Kempton this evening running in the 7.45pm. He is worth his weight in gold having acted as a lead horse for the likes of Bated Breath, Cityscape and Al Kazeem. At home he is capable of leading really good work but on the race course we probably do not get the same standard so who knows what will happen this evening.
