29th May 2015
Two nice fillies heading to Newmarket this afternoon.
Libbard starts us off in the 1m 4f maiden. She is a well bred filly being by Galileo, from the family of Pounced. She has taken her time coming to herself this Spring, as a lot of our fillies have, but she looks very well now. She ran in the best fillies maiden of its type last year when running on 4th to Star of Seville. The races is working out well for obvious reasons. I think she will get the trip and will progress through the season. Horseshoe Bay and Haalan said a very fair standard. The rain, which is imminent will help them all I am sure, and especially her.
Suffused is stepped up in trip to 1m 2f having won on the course over 1m, and having run that distance last time out at Ascot. We felt that she just needed a step up in trip after her Ascot run. Its a very competitive race, and the dogs are barking about Peterhof, who ran over 1m 3f last time out. He ran in a very competitive race, but I think the first three got the run of it, having avoided all the trouble up the inside. I think Suffused will handle the course better than some of them and a little bit of rain should be ideal for her.
