Yet again Quest for More did Beckhampton proud with a valiant battle all the way to the line in yesterday’s Goodwood Cup only to be narrowly denied by a neck. There are two possible races for him at York in three weeks; The Lonsdale Cup Group 2 over 2 miles or the Ebor. We will give him time to recover from his tough race and decide which option to take.

Master Zephyr is our only runner at Goodwood in the 5.30pm race. He won well at Newbury but the form was weak so with an eight pound rise in the weights he has it all to do to beat some smart three year olds. It is our last chance of giving Richard Hughes another winner. I will miss him as a jockey as we have had some great moments in the past. He rode his first winner for me in the Cambridgeshire on Cap Juluca in 1995 making every yard of the running. He rode over 100 winners for Beckhampton many in the Abdullah silks.

Star Fire returns to Bath this evening to run in the 7.45pm race. She has had a break after a busy campaign in June. She has run well all season winning twice and in the process has been raised 14lbs since the start of the season. This is a higher quality of race than she has run in, but she is in good form and hopefully they go flat out for her.
