A good day yesterday with a winner and a nice second.

Clowance One won his maiden at Kempton in cosy fashion, from a pair of Godolphin runners. He travelled well and was still a little green, but did it nicely in the end. We look to get another run in to him soon enough.

Intermittent ran a taking race having missed the break and sat a long way back from the pace. She made up a lot of ground to lead half a furlong out, and then just gone run down as she pricked her ears! There should be more to come from her in the future.

Today we have 5 runners heading to the track.

Rock Steady has his 3rd start at Nottingham on what will be very soft ground after the overnight rain. He took a step forward in his progression in a weaker maiden than this and I hope he can show promise again. There aren't many options for these horses now and so sometimes you have to run on ground that may not be suitable. I think he will be a fun horse for his owners next year.

Arrowtown and Starlit Night contest the 5.55pm at Kempton, an auction maiden over 1m 3f. Arrowtown has only ever run at the track and it seems to suit her. She ran a nice race after a layoff last time, staying on in the final stages behind 3 horses that have franked the form. There are a couple in here that are rated higher than her, but Wavelet and Arrowtown look to be progressive and I hope she can be in with a shout at the line.

Chester Street makes his second start having run with promise at Leicester in a race that is working out nicely. It doesn't appear to be a strong race the way some of them are drifting and he has been backed. Lets hope that the market is correct and he can do the business.

Paling ran at Kempton first time out. He travelled a bit strong and faded very quickly. He is better than that and I hope that is was just inexperience that led to the performance last time.
