Captain Cat returns to his beloved Lingfield.
Back in 2014 Captain Cat had some great moments on the track, including winning the Good Friday Mile. He has had 105 days off, after a promising run at Chelmsford behind some of the 'Greats' of the All Weather. He sat off the pace that day and did well to get as close to the winner as he did. He wore blinkers which he didn't particularly enjoy, and on the advice of his jockey we have removed them. He will come on for the run undoubtedly and a lot today will depend on the pace of the race, as it is full of quality, with horses who have form at the top level when on the all weather. The aim this year is to qualify for the Good Friday races in a couple of months, and therefore he needs to win a qualifier or have run three times.
