A great picture below of Camberley Two after his memorable six timer at Haydock on Friday evening, a very proud Uilson De Souza with his six fingers and Charlie Bishop who was so excited that he could hardly speak after the race.
Today we have three runners at Salisbury with That's Dangerous running in the 3pm and being ridden by his regular pilot Keiran O'Neill. He steps up to 7 furlongs for the first time which should suit him and I notice that the handicapper has raised him another 2lbs to a rating of 77 for any races after today.
That's Dangerous
Discovery Bay runs in the following race the mile handicap for three year olds and I hope he will eradicate his disappointing performance at Ascot in the Ladies race. His work has been consistent and I found no reason for that disappointing run, but perhaps running against seasoned handicappers over 7 furlongs was not the right recipe.
Discovery Bay
Primevere moves back up to a mile and a quarter for the first time since she disappointed me in The Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket in May. Her recent form has been consistent and she has been staying on well in the closing stages suggesting that it is worth trying 10 furlongs again. She looks extremely well and is in good form but I would prefer a more level track as she can become a little unbalanced.

Jimmy Fortune who rode in the first race at Windsor last night reported back to me that the ground was dead and a bit tacky which I know does not suit Zero Money, so we decided to withdraw. We have no runners today but hopefully three tomorrow at Salisbury. The new handicapper ratings have just been published and Camberley Two has been raised 7lbs to a rating of 85 having run off 79 when he won his last race at Haydock. Not surprisingly, the handicapper is making quite sure that he does not win again having had his fair share !
For anyone who struggles to get to sleep at night have a look at our new ...''Video Diary'' ... at the top of this page.
A neck and a nose separated Genki from the £50,000 second prize at Deauville yesterday. As usual he ran another courageous and valiant race and in the process he finished nearly 3 lengths closer to Society Rock than he had done at Royal Ascot. It will be interesting to see (on the 16th August) whether the handicapper raises his rating and in the process confirming his best performance to date, not bad when you are aged 7 and having your 31st race ! He deserves a rest and a few days turned out in a pen to enjoy some grass and sunshine. There are several options for him that include; the Haydock Sprint Gr1 followed by the New Champions Sprint Gr 2 at Ascot on the 15th October which is worth £140,000 to the winner.
Zero Money is due to run this evening in the same colours as Genki at 6.40pm and he will be ridden by Jimmy Fortune for the first time as both William Buick and Steve Drowne are suspended. He is suited by fast ground and being able to dominate the race from the front. Windsor had 5mm of rain over the weekend and there is a possibility of further showers, so should the ground become slow, he would be an unlikely runner. He has been in good form recently and if the conditions are right, he should have a good chance.
Zero Money
History was made for us last night at Haydock when Camberley Two won his 6th handicap in a row, I wonder how many previous Beckhampton trainers including the mighty Fred and Sam Darling, Sir Noel Murless and Jeremy Tree won more than 6. The horse deserves a long rest and will be turned out so that he can relax and enjoy himself. He has taken his racing well and he was only 11 kilos lighter when he arrived home late last night compared with his weight when he headed off to Pontefract on Wednesday morning. We have no runners today, but Genki travelled last night to Deauville on the ferry via Portsmouth/Le Havre and I have just been informed that he arrived in the racecourse stables at 8.30 am this morning. I hope he enjoys his first visit to France and I only wish he was there long enough to have participated in a little training on the beach as it would have been interesting to see how he reacted to splashing around in the waves ! As you would expect tomorrow's Group 1 is a tough and competitive race and it is run over an unusual distance of 6 1/2 furlongs. It will be very difficult to beat the favourite Dream Ahead and we need to find at least 4 lengths of improvement but there is good prize money down to 5th place of 7,000 euro. Deauville as had quite a lot of rain so I hope the ground isn't too holding or soft for him.
Unfortunately Lucy Limelites did not run well after her long journey to Yarmouth and Ted Durcan reported that she was very quiet and slightly reluctant to walk round behind the stalls which is out of character for her, maybe she is coming in season. Brickfielder just got home in a weak race on ground that was probably too soft for him but it was a good start and beating a filly rated 63 which should help him in the future when he runs in a Nursery handicap.
Today Camberley Two travels from Pontefract having had a peaceful two days since his last victory. He is reported to be in good form and eating well, so he will travel to Haydock this afternoon to run in the 7.40pm. It is never going to be "exact science" knowing whether a horse has fully recovered from his previous race and he will carry a 12lb penalty on a rating of 79 which will be reduced by Charlie Bishop claiming 7lbs. Charlie Bishop is having a good season and won on him in the Hands and Heels apprentice race at Salisbury on 26th June. He certainly deserves a nice long rest after this evening, so he won't reappear until the Autumn.
That's Dangerous is a non runner at Newmarket this evening as unfortunately he knocked one of his hind legs overnight.
Al Kazeem is also sadly now a non runner this evening as he is under offer from a blookstock agent to continue racing in Hong Kong.......
Camberley Two completed his five timer in great style at Pontefract yesterday having been given a very positive and mature ride from Keiran O'Neill. It was the first time that he has made the running having been rather free in his earlier races. He remained at Pontefract last night and my travelling head lad reported that he was sound and fresh this morning and had eaten up. The plan is to travel to Haydock tomorrow morning to contest the 7.40pm at Haydock.
Lucy Limelites travelled to Yarmouth yesterday and she is due to run in the 2.50pm with Ted Durcan. It is a small field which should suit her and I got the impression that she did not stay the 10 furlongs at Newbury so it will be interesting to see if she can win over a mile, any rain should be to her advantage.
Lucy Limelites
Brickfielder runs in the first race at Foklestone this evening with Dane O'Neill. At first glance it does not look to be a very strong race and it would be nice to have a winner for Richard Pegum who now lives in Australia. Brickfielder is out of Graceful Air who won twice and was placed many times between 6 and 10 furlongs and she is the dam of Amendable who has now won 4 races over 6 furlongs and Forjatt who is a decent 3 year old sprinter rated in the high 90's and trained by Roger Varian.

I decided not to run Zero Money at Ffos Las this evening as the handicapper has only raised his rating by 6lbs to 94 and it seemed a touch greedy to try and run him again for the 3rd time in 9 days especially as he was due to try 5 furlongs for the first time. There is a possibility he could run at Windsor on Monday evening in a 0-95, 6 furlong handicap. Camberley Two travels to Pontefract early tomorrow morning in an attempt to win his 5th handicap in a row and I noticed the handicapper has raised him by 11lbs to 78 which means in theory he has 5lbs in hand tomorrow.
I am planning on sending Genki to Deauville on the ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre so that he can run in the Prix Maurice De Gheest on Sunday and it will be interesting tomorrow morning to learn what is likely to run.
A good weekend in the office with Zero Money winning the lucky last at Newmarket on Saturday and in the process giving William Buick a 4 timer. Zero Money rather like Definightly seems to have found more speed since the blinkers have been applied as he was always in command and won rather easily. Rightly or wrongly he will attempt over 5 furlongs at Ffos Las on Tuesday with a 6 lb penalty (due to go up at least 6 lbs in the future) and being ridden by the very in form Kieran O'Neill claiming 3lbs.
Mince was rather slowly away but kept on quite well in a hot contest and there is plenty of room for improvement.
Sea of Heartbreak - it was a real thrill to watch her battle away in her normal determined fashion to win her first Listed race. I am so pleased for Liz Hardisty whose husband David sadly died last year. He was so passionate and enthusiastic about this filly and his recently developed stud.
Today we have 2 runners at Newbury with Mince a daughter of Strut running for the first time in the 6 furlong maiden race at
Mince
Sea of Heartbreak who has been very consistent in her three races to date, having finished 2nd at Newmarket in a Group 3 and more recently just being beaten by Timepiece in the Warwick Oaks. She will love the fast ground and she won at Newbury in June last year and it will be a great thrill for her owner Liz Hardisty if she could win her first Stakes race.
Sea Of Heartbreak
I was thrilled to watch Federation win her maiden race at Thirsk yesterday, she looked professional and won with plenty in hand. It was probably a weak race and it will be interesting to see whether her current handicap rating of 78 is raised. As a half sister to Attraction her owner/breeder will obviously want me to explore the possibilities of gaining some black type for her in the future. What can I say about Proponent, that he ran another tough and courageous race to finish 2nd and perhaps 2 or 3 more strides and he would have won. No doubt, he will go up the weights yet again, maybe 3 or 4 lbs which will make life even tougher in the future, but he did at least earn £23,000 for his owner. It is a race that has been lucky for us in the past with Third Set winning in 2007 and Fifteen Love in 2008.
Zero Money is our only runner today at Newmarket and he runs in the 5.15pm and will be ridden by William Buick for the first time. It is always hard to tell whether a horse has fully recovered from a hard race 6 days before, but he has put his weight back on and seems fresh and well. The reason for running Zero Money again so soon is that his handicap mark is, that he is due to be raised 4lbs to a rating of 92 next week having finished 2nd at Pontefract last Sunday. Zero Money is suited by making the running but the other Zero (Below Zero) is drawn next to him in stall 17, who also likes to go from the front which might make it more complicated for him.
