Herculean and Ragnar head to Sandown whilst So Hi Cardi goes to Goodwood

 In Beckhampton News

Today we have three runners, with two heading to Sandown and the other heading to Goodwood.

Our first runner of the day is Herculean at Sandown in the ‘Join Racing TV Now Handicap’. He is a very imposing 4 year old son of Frankel that is having his first run this season. He has had four previous runs before today with two of them being wins and the other two being placed second and third. The summer we had last year was not ideal with the constant fast ground, and that restricted his appearances. He has since been gelded after his last start and hopefully he can put in a strong performance, but we are obviously concerned if the ground is very soft off a long lay off.

Our second runner of the day is Ragnar at Sandown in the ‘Beck Celebrating 25 Years Of Excellence Handicap’. He is a three year old gelding owned by Kingwood Stud who has recently joined our yard. Today will be his fifth run in his career but his first start since joining the Beckhampton Stables. Some of his form has not worked out that well. The race today holds eight runners but we are really only just starting to get to know him. It is hard to know what ground he really wants but we will learn a lot today.

Our last runner of the day is So Hi Cardi at Goodwood in the ‘Now TV Maiden Stakes’. Today will be her third appearance on the racecourse in a field of seven runners. We would like to think she has improved again from her previous run due to more experience and hope she won’t mind the ground on the softer side.

Jason Watson takes the ride on all three runners.
