A happy retirement for Projection
Today we said goodbye to PROJECTION, one of the yard favourites who has been retired from racing, he is to be retrained in a good home. He has given his owners The Royal Ascot Racing Club many memorable days on the racecourse. He arrived at Beckhampton in December 2014 having been bought by John and Jake Warren and he readily won his Maiden at Windsor in August as a two-year-old, before following up in a Conditions Race at Salisbury under Ryan Moore in September.
As a four-year-old he was second to Blue Point in the Bengough Stakes Group 3 at Ascot and earned a rating of 110 having been placed in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot prior to that. The following season he ran his personal best finishing 5th in The Golden Jubilee (Group 1), only being beaten 2 lengths and he then went on to finish second in the Hackwood (Group 3) beaten only a head. He returned to his favourite course in October and won The Bengough Stakes (Group 3), taking his earnings to £168,853.
He was a pleasure to have on the yard and never missed a day’s exercise, he was stabled beside Blakeney Point and they were turned out together each day after exercise and spent their winter holidays together. He was looked after by Jibril Khan and we all wish him a very happy retirement. Thanks to Craig Witherford for all his help on the course who helped him race to his potential.
