Good Friday

Today we travel the length of the country in search of some Good Friday joy.

First up it is Breathless Times in the AW Championships apprentice handicap. He has won and run very well at the track, especially when he was unlucky on this very day a year ago to be fourth to Corinthia Knight. He has a big weight with a very experienced apprentice in Cameron Noble. The fancied runners have a lot of pace and in a race like this you would expect them to go a fair clip which should suit Breathless. Hopefully he can get some luck for Sheikh Juma.

Up at Newcastle Creationist steps up in grade on a track he has won at. He is an exciting horse for Nick Bradley Racing and a horse we like a lot. He isn’t best drawn in stall 1, which means Jason will need to get across at some point in the race towards the middle of the track. It’s a competitive race as you would expect with the money on offer and the mile will take a bit of getting in the heat, with the surface often riding slower. Creationist has a lot of speed but is a horse we think can stay 10f in time.

Forbidden Planet has been a star since he joined the yard and today he steps up in trip again to 12.5f. His win last time was seriously impressive given he sat close to a fast pace and still managed to be stay on at the line. He has a great attitude and the long straight will be to his liking, given he is a big and powerful horse. He is drawn in 14 with a bend 2 furlongs away, and hopefully Thomas can negate that. His 5lbs will be very handy and leaves him on a nice weight. It’s a strong race, but we wouldn’t swap him.
