A preview on today’s runners

Imperium to Ascot and Qarasu to Nottingham

Our first runner of the day is Imperium in the ‘Karen Millen Maiden Stakes’. Being a son of Frankel and out of an Oaks winning mare he is very well bred for the job. Today he will be making his racecourse debut and the opposition may be a bit sharp for him on his first day at school. Adam McNamara takes the ride.

Our second runner of the day is Qarasu in the ‘Castle Rock Session Novice Stakes’. He has only had the one run so far in which he finished 2nd at Newbury only beaten a neck behind a 90 rated horse of Andrew Balding’s. Others in the Newbury maiden have upheld the form. The race today holds a relatively big field of 15 with a few unexposed horses in and others with good form with the Guineas second. Qarasu will come on for the race, especially with the ground on the slower side and he may find one or two too good for him after the time off.
