Five runners split between Newbury and Newmarket

Eyeshadow is our first runner of the day and runs in the ‘Earl & The Pharaoh Novice Stakes (GBB Race) (Div II)’ at Newbury for owners Juddmonte. She is a three year old filly by Expert Eye and a half sister to three winners. One of her half siblings is Gavota who is Group 2 and Group 3 placed and the dam of Flag Flying who won a race when in training here at Beckhampton. Today Eyeshadow makes her racecourse debut in a field of 12 runners and has been drawn 11. Benoit De La Sayette takes the ride as well as claiming his 3lbs.

Merlin The Wizard heads to Newmarket to run in the ‘Racehorse Lotto Novice Stakes’ for owner Imad Alsagar. He is a three year old gelding by Camelot that has had just the one career start prior to today in which he finished 2nd as a two year old over 7 furlongs. Today he makes his 3 year old debut over a mile in a field of 10 runners with a draw of 4. Hollie Doyle takes the ride.

Baltic makes his racecourse debut in the ‘Coolmore Stud EBF Maiden Stakes’ at Newbury for owners David Chaplin and Fittocks Stud. He is a three year old colt by Frankel and a half brother to Victoria Grove a winner over 7 furlongs and a mile. The dam Baltic Best is ahalf sister to 7 winners, 6 with black type. Baltic Baroness is one of the half siblings and is a Group 1 winner in France over 1 mile 4 furlongs. Today Baltic makes his racecourse debut in a field of 14 runners over 1 mile 2 furlongs with a draw of 1. Adam Kirby takes the ride.

Also heading to Newbury to run in the ‘Coolmore Stud EBF Maiden Stakes’ is Billabong who makes his racecourse debut for owners P Inglett, S de Zoete, N Jones and Partner. Billabong is a half brother to Supernova a winner of 2 races over 1 mile 3 and 1 mile 4 furlongs as well as being Listed and Group 3 placed in Australia. He has been drawn 13 with Blinkers applied. Ashky is our final runner of the day and heads to Newmarket to run in the ‘Racehorse Lotto Lucky Ticket Handicap’ for owner Mohammed Jaber. She is a winner of 3 races from 9 runs as well as placing 3rd on 4 other occasions. She was a little disappointing on her most recent start when making her 4 year old debut but hopefully that is behind her and we will see her run another good race today.
