Magical Merlin is our first runner of the day and runs in the ‘William Hill Extra Places Every Day Handicap’ for owners Paul Inglett & Beckhampton Racing. He was a winner over 6 furlongs as a two year old and put in a promising performance on his 3 year old debut 2 weeks ago at Kempton over 6 furlongs. Today he steps up in trip for the first time and runs over 7 furlongs in a field of 10 runners. He has been drawn 10 with Richard Kingscote taking the ride.

Love Is A Rose also heads to Goodwood and runs in the ‘British Racing School 40th Anniversary Restricted Maiden Stakes (Horses In Bands B/C/D) for owners Philip Newton and Elizabeth Railton. She is a three year old filly by Churchill and has had just the one run as a two year old over 7 furlongs at Newmarket. Today she makes her three year old debut in a field of 10 runners and has been drawn 10. A hood has been applied to help her relax and Richard Kingscote takes the ride.

Finest Leader heads to Doncaster to run in the ‘ Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com Handicap’ for owners P Inglett, A Bengough and Lady Tidbury. He made his 3 year old debut and Handicap debut 2 weeks ago and was a little disappointing. Today he steps up in trip to a mile for the first time and hopefully can leave his previous run behind him. Today he runs in a field of 8 runner with a draw of 7. Connor Planas takes the ride as well as claiming 5lb off his back.

Valsad is our final runner of the day and runs in the ‘Watch Chester On Sky Sports Racing Handicap’ for owner S Stuckey. He is a 4 year old gelding by Intello who has been pretty consistent in his form. He was a winner at Lingfield over 1 mile 3 and a half furlongs as a three year old last season and finished his 3 year old campaign off by placing 3rd over 1 mile 6 furlongs when stepped up in trip and into Class 2 Handicap company. Since his last start he has been gelded and had a winter break and today makes his 4 year old debut back over 1 mile 4. The race today has a field of 8 runners and he has been drawn 7.
