Gavota runs a cracker

 In Beckhampton News

It was a great effort from Gavota yesterday in the Group 2 Rockfel to be 3rd where she was perhaps a little unlucky to not be in the mix up.  Showing her inexperience still, she got very unbalanced in the dip and picked up well in the final furlong. The way the race panned out she was probably a bit far back but she would have learnt plenty again from the experience and chased home a couple of well hardened 2yo fillies. Jim Crowley paid credit to how well she switched off in the race and stated a mile will be fine, and also that she will be suited to better ground. This opens plenty of doors for her again with a possible tilt at the Fillies Mile of Breeders Cup Fillies Turf another option. She did not lose much weight from the race and seems to be in rude health this morning. She is a credit to her sire Bated Breath.

Makzeem is back on track today at Newmarket in a competitive looking handicap at 17.20.

Makzeem has been off the track for 63 days after having a little break following his previous run. Since then he has trained well but it goes without saying he should come on for the run a bit today. His previous form seems to be strong and we are confident there is another race in him this campaign. The track and ground should prove no problems.
