Headman delivers in the G2 Eugene Adam
Its long been known the regard Headman has been held in at Beckhampton and the heads he turned in the Saint Cloud paddock pretty much summed it up. He walked around there in relaxed fashion and with his imposing physique it is safe to say he was the standout. During the race they didn’t go that fast as we suspected and he had a pretty bad trip, but it was all irrelevant when he went past them in an instance to seal the race 2 furlongs from the finish. He is taking his racing very well and improving as we would have hoped. The options are to be discussed with Prince Khalid and Lord Grimthorpe but the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano (G2) back at Deauville in the middle of August stands out as a possible target. He has returned here in fine fettle having traveled home well. Aspetar also ran a good race to pick up some valuable G1 black type for his mare in Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. They didn’t go as fast as he would like and was unable to peg back horses that were quickening away from the front. We were still delighted with his run. True Destiny continued his march at York as he regained the winning trend getting his head back in front having been a little unlucky at Pontefract last time. He is loving the staying trips and is in great form. He could run in the long distance race at the Goodwood festival.
