2018 bay colt by Muhaarar (GB)
ex La Dorotea (Ire) (Lope de Vega (Ire))
He was bought at Book 1 and therefore qualifies for the 25k book one bonus if he wins a race which is a serious incentive scheme set out by Tattersalls. He is also paid up for the plus 10 scheme which means he can win a further £10k for winning a race!
His sire has made a solid start to his first season, siring 12 individual winners. Last year Muhaarar colts averaged £174k and although he didn’t have as many winners in his first season as people expected, we have to remember that he himself only really got going as a 3yo and he was in fact bred to stay 1m, but just happened to be freakishly quick and one of the great sprinters of the modern era, by the sire of sires Oasis Dream. He won 4 G1s in a row at 3 starting in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, ending in the Champions Day Sprint, having won the July Cup and the Maurice De Gheest in between. Not forgetting he had the class to win the Greenham over 7f on his first start. That takes some doing in your 3yo career.
La Dorotea cost £310k as a mare and her first produce El Pelegrino was sold for 200,000 gns. She won races over a mile before placing in two listed races in France over 9 and 10f. She was a full sister to Jemayel, who won the G1 Saint Alary in France.
He looks the type to make up in to a nice miler at 3 and has a wonderful walk and a very athletic colt.
