It’s A Given made her debut on Thursday evening at Chelmsford in the ‘Bet toteplacepot At Novice Stakes’. Despite running greenly, she took up the lead in the final furlong to win by ½ a length under Jason Watson. That is the fifth Prince Khalid Abdullah two-year-old filly’s that we have had this season and currently they are striking at 70% win to run, aided by Quadrilateral and Pocket Square.

Today we have Striking Approach running at Wolverhampton in the ‘Ladbrokes “Play 1-2-Free” On Football EBF Novice Stakes’ for his owner Imad Al Sagar. He made a very promising start to his career at Newmarket to finish 4th in a competitive novice stakes, where the winner went on to be second to Threat in the Champagne Stakes and the third was second in a very hot maiden at Sandown when caught on the line by a flyer.  Today is his second start and with two non-runners the field is down to 10. Interestingly the favourite was born and raised on the same stud as him, so they may have previous from the paddock…. Tom Greatrex takes the ride and uses his valuable 3lbs.
