Its been a good week. Winter won’t be so cold

The Horses in Training sale is always a tricky time as we (the lads and lasses love the horses they look after) don’t like seeing horses leave the yard and head on to pastures new, but we wish all the new connections the best of luck and hope they all have as good a life as they did at Beckhampton.

Watching Extra Elusive walk back in the door from the sale is a major boost. A roar horse who we have not seen the best of yet, and who will look better after a winter on his back.

On returning from the sales it was cheering to see Mubariz win the maiden Golden Horn won with consummate ease at Nottingham for Al Shahania Stud. He has a wonderful attitude and although there will have been stronger maidens run this year, you can only beat what is put in front of you.

This evening Headman made his debut at Newcastle. He is a horse who has been tricky to hide from outside attention. He has an incredible physique, was very highly rated back at Juddmonte and it was nice to see him deliver a telling performance on the bridle, beating a horse who had solid form from Ascot. The quality that Juddmonte Farms deliver beggars belief, and the team do an incredible job.  Kingman has made a significant impact on this season and hopefully Headman can continue that in to next. They all have impressive minds. Newcastle is proving a happy hunting ground for us, as we are now 5/9 at the track.
