Lady Adelaide confirms promise and 3 nice horses head to Wolverhampton
Lady Adelaide got the job done at Kempton under and hands ride in the final furlong. It wasn’t great for the ticker but she won as a 2yo and didn’t have a hard time in doing so, despite jumping from 13. She ran a very eye catching race at Newbury and was entitled to win this time. Its great for Mr Fish who hasn’t had a lot of luck with us, and this filly should provide plenty of joy next year as she steps up in distance. She has a very good mind.
Also on the Kempton card we saw the debut of She’s Apples for Bloomsbury Stud. She has a pedigree that very much originates from New Zealand and Australia and although Redoute’s Choices are quick in Australia this is a filly that will stay well, being from the family of Tavistock. She ran a taking race having run green, before finishing nicely in the final furlong.
At Wolverhampton tonight Universal Command makes his second start of the year after a long lay off. Once again he hasn’t been blessed with a good draw out in 12 on a tight track like Wolverhampton. There is no doubt his last run was very promising and whilst we hope we can get the job done tonight he may well be one for more of a trip in the future. He has come out of his last race very well and is a fresh horse for this time of the year.
in the 745 Skyman makes his second start in a hot looking contest. Its a race that contains the very talented James Park Woods who should have been the winner at Newmarket last time, but also Metatron who, despite having a very easy lead when he won at Woverhampton, couldnt have been more impressive the way he quickened clear. He obviously has a penalty to contend with today. Both these set a very fair standard and will take a bit of beating. Skyman ran a lovely race at Newbury on ground that would have been softer than ideal as he is a very extravagant mover. The experienced horses went too quick that day and so a few of the newcomers that ran on were flattered but it was a lovely introduction.
in the following race Great Bear makes his debut. It is not as strong as the first division but there are some well bred newcomers and Copal sets a decent standard. It goes without saying he is very well bred being out of Great Heavens who was so brilliant for Lady Rothschild in her racing career. She was a strong stayer and Great Bear should stay well next year. He is a very athletic horse who has always moved incredibly well, but he will definitely strengthen over the winter and mature mentally.
