Louganini makes a striking debut

 In Beckhampton News

Louganini made his racecourse debut at Newmarket in the ‘Heath Court Hotel EBF Novice Stakes (Div1)’ for his owner Imad Al Sager and Blue Diamond Stud. Despite being green he took up the lead in the final furlong to win by a comfortable 2 ¾ lengths under Jason Watson. His mother got better with age having not run at 2 and only winning late in the year as a 3yo. She was placed in the G1 Romanet at Deauville as  a 4yo adn therefore we can only hope Louganini can improve with time. He is an unfurnished type who should do well over the winter and we look forward to his 3yo career.

On Saturday  Selecto heads to Newmarket for the ‘Arioneo Nursery Handicap’ for his owners Daniel Hunt and Mrs Eileen Markham. He has had three starts in his career so far and today makes his first appearance in handicap company with an official rating of 74. He will need to handle the ground to feature, which his brother certainly did. Thomas Greatrex takes the ride and claims 3lbs.
