Maokai breaks his maiden at Chepstow and two runners split between Newbury and Wolverhampton

 In Beckhampton News

Yesterday we sent Maokai to Chepstow to make his handicap debut in the ‘Trade Centre Group Handicap’ for Beckhampton Stables Ltd. He was in touch with leaders until he dropped to rear and was pushed along briefly over 4f out, he was  ridden and headway over 2f outand stayed on well to lead the final 100 yards going away under a strong ride from Trevor Whelan.

Today we send From Beyond to Newbury and Okeechobee to Wolverhampton.

From Beyond is our first runner of the day and heads to Newbury to run in the ‘BetVictor Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (GBB Race) (IRE Incentive Race)’ for owners Mrs T Brudenell and Mr P Inglett. Today she makes her racecourse debut in a field of 10 runners. She has been drawn 8 with Trevor Whelan taking the ride. She is a nice filly and we look forward to learning a bit more about her today.

Okeechobee heads to Wolverhampton to run in the ‘ Happy World Photo Day Tommo Restricted Novice Stakes (Horses In Bands C/D) (GBB Race)’ for owners Juddmonte. The three year old colt by Time Test has had just the two career starts so far in which he finished 2nd on debut and then followed it up with a very impressive performance at Kempton winning what looks to be a strong novice by 4 lengths. Today the race has a small field of just two runners, he is drawn 2 with Daniel Muscutt taking the ride.
