Skyman and Stone Mason head to Carlisle

 In Beckhampton News

Today we have three horses travelling to Carlisle for there two day meeting. We have two runners today and one tomorrow.

Our first runner today is Skyman in the ‘Cumwhinton Maiden Stakes (Div I)’. He had two starts as a 2 year old finishing 5th on both occasions at Wolverhampton and Newbury over 1 mile. He has slightly stepped up in trip to 1 mile 1 furlong in which he should appreciate. After his last run he has since been gelded which should hopefully help him concentrate on the task in hand. Today’s race holds 13 runners with four of them being unexposed on the racecourse. He handled soft ground last year and hopefully it wont inconvenience him.

Our second runner of the day is Stone Mason in the ‘Cumwhinton Maiden Stakes (Div II)’. He ran a very creditable race on his first and only outing to finish 3rd on the 7th May at Wetherby. We would hope he has taken a lot of experience from his run and will improve again today. We considered dropping him back to 1m having shown a lot of speed last time, but there were no suitable options. He is by Pivotal and hopefully he can handle the ground. The race holds 12 runners with the majority only having the one run behind them.

Adam McNamara takes the ride on both horses.
