Three to Ascot and one to Newmarket, all with chances

Projection has not been loving this wet summer and has had very few opportunities to get on the ground he really likes. Added to that he has also had some shocking draws. Today the ground will not be ideal but the draw issue disappears as we have stepped him up into a higher grade. There are one or two decent horses in the race and it won’t be easy but it will be nice to give him a shot at a proper race.

Makzeem has had a great year, running well throughout. He has taken a real liking to 7f and today he gets a shot at another big pot having run out a taking winner last week at Newmarket. He is a couple of pounds ahead of the handicapper, but this is a tougher race.

Princess De Lune makes her second start after her summer break. She is in good form and hopefully she will have learnt a lot from her run at Newbury, where she ran very green on the outside of the field. Today’s race has less depth than her last race.

Cribbs Causeway has been a revelation this season, winning 4 races and running a very good second to a horse, well ahead of the handicapper. She seems in great form and we hope that the ground doesn’t get slow and that Frankie remains riding as well as he has in the last week!
