Valsad breaks his maiden at Lingfield and two runners split between Haydock and Goodwood

 In Beckhampton News

Yesterday we sent Valsad to Lingfield to run in the ’10th Barry Gurr Memorial Novice Stakes’ for owner Mr S Stuckey. Prior to yesterday Valsad had three starts behind him and had finished a close 2nd on two of those occasions. Yesterday he put in another very strong performance which landed him the win under Benoit De La Sayette by 13 lengths.

Today we send out two runners between Haydock and Goodwood.

Clenched is the first of our two runners and heads to Haydock to make his racecorse debut in the ‘ British Stallion Studs EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes’ for owners Juddmone. He is a 2 year old by Cityscape out of 1 mile plus winning mare Grasped who is also a half sister to Posteritas a winner of a Listed race over a mile and 2 furlongs. Posteritas has since gone on to produce a Group 1 winner as well as 4 other runners with black type. Todays race has a field of 10 runners and Clenched has been drawn 8. We look forward to seeing what he shows today and learning a little more about him. Richard Kingscote takes the ride.

Teagarden Jazz travels to Goodwood to run in the ‘British European Breeders Fund EBF Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes’ for owner D J Deer. She has had one career start prior to today in which she finished a close 5th with only just over a length between her and the winner. She should have improved for that run and hopefully today we will see another strong run from her. The race has a field of 13 runners and she has been drawn 13. Trevor Whelan takes the ride.
