Withhold heads to York and two winners on a busy Friday

 In Beckhampton News

Another good day at the office with two winners and a close second. Cambric has been a revelation as she has stepped up in trip and is clearly a very straightforward filly. Its never easy to win three times in a year. Total Commitment’s victory at Newmarket was a real victory for patience. His owners have really allowed him the time and hopefully they will now be rewarded. They didn’t go that quick and Jason had him in the right position but he did very well to dig in and win off such a long layoff. Junior Rip ran a great race to be second back at Chelmsford, and was unlucky to just run into one.

Today we have three runners, with two horses heading to York for the Ebor meeting and one runner heading to Chelmsford

Our first runner of the day is Withhold in the ‘Sky Bet Ebor Handicap stakes’ for his owner Tony Bloom.  He put in a fantastic performance on his last start winning the Marsh Cup at Newbury after a 269 day break. He is a very special horse to the yard and fingers crossed all will go his way today. He is obviously running short of his minimum, but he is not a slow horse, and we are delighted the ground is going to be very quick as there will be plenty in the race who won’t enjoy it. Jason Watson takes the ride.

The second runner of the day is Infuse in the ‘Bet totetrifecta At totesport.com British EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes’. She has been very consistent placing each time on her four starts this season but has also been very unlucky not to have won on each occasion. Today she runs in a field of 7 runners with a draw of 2. Adam McNamara takes the ride.

Our last runner of the day is Daughter In Law who runs in the ‘Julia Graves Roses Stakes (Listed Race)’ for her owners Glentree Pastoral Pty Ltd. She was a winner of a Maiden in Ireland before coming over to England to be trained here at Beckhampton. Her race today holds 13 runners and she has been given a draw of 12. She will love the quick ground, has a bit to find with some of them but it would be great to pick up some black type for her owners. Jason Watson takes the ride.
